Where are Tropical & Subtropical Moist Broadleaf Forests?

The tropical & subtropical moist broadleaf forests are found in countries near the equator. The biome can be found in countries in the northern area of South America, some of Central America, Central Africa, and the Indo-Malayan areas. The areas can stretch to more than 3,000 miles! In South America the forest stretches from western parts of Colombia and Peru all the way to the east of Brazil. In addition to this, the biome takes up most of south eastern Asia, in countries like Myanmar, southern China, and eastern India.

The Climate in Tropical & Subtropical Moist Broadleaf Forests!

The climate in this biome is very wet. The biome recieves more than 200 cm of annual rainfall. The temperature is relatively warm year long. Because of both of these climate factors the plants in the biome grow quickly during any time of the year.

There is a huge variety of plants and animals that live in the tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests. A few of the animals that live in this biome are apes, monkeys, and mosquitoes.There are a huge amount of plants in this biome and they have at least more than 1,000 different types of trees which also have different types of species. Some commonly found plants in this biome are evergreens, semi-evergreen, and deciduous tree species.

How the Climate and Geography Helped the Biodiversity

The climate and geography is very good for the biodiversity. The tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests has all the needs of a variety of organisms because the amount of shade, precipitation, and temperature. Some common traits between the previous animals is that they both eat similar diets which are mostly full of plants. This will help them survive because they can eat as much as they want and will always have a supply. Also many of the insects and even some plants in the biome have a huge variety of bright colors.
